Vegan  Skin Care  is  Cruelty Free

Ingredients that come from Animals *  I do NOT use

1. Cochineal Dye

Can also be listed as Carmine  but it is in fact a . a dye  It is derived from the

cochineal beetles to be precise. The insects feed on cactus plants in Central and South America and the females eat the red cactus berries; when they’re crushed an intense red dye is produced. It’s found in most lipsticks and a lot of blusher products.

2. Guanine. It is  a crystalline material that’s shimmering or light-diffusing and found

in most mascaras and nail polishes which is made from    crushed fish scales

3. Tallow

Tallow is in many costmetics such as lipstick, makeup bases and foundations. To the everyday consumer, it’s more common name is rendered animal fat.  Which  involves boiling the carcasses of slaughtered animals until a fatty substance is produced, ready to add to cosmetics and people  apply that to their face, not knowing what it is.

4. Gelatin

Similar to tallow but  Gelatin is made from  boiled skin, tendons, ligaments and bones of animals. It is also used to make  gel,  glue, gelatine.  can be found  in creamy cosmetics and nail treatments.

5. Lanoline is made from  sheep´s wool  and sheep are dipped in many  chemicals to get rid of  bugs which the dips can be quite toxic. Lanolin  is found in most lipsticks and makeup removers.  ( I am very allergic to Lanoline)

6. Squalene

This substance is extracted from Shark´s livers

and then added to your eye makeup and lipsticks.

7. Ambergris

It may seem unbelievable, but this ingredient is derived from the

whale’s stomachs. Surprisingly enough, this oil substance is used to make the scent “fix” in perfumes.

8. Collagen

Found in cosmetic lip-plumping glosses, to face creams,   this is in fact ground up chicken feet and small animal  skin  it has no proven effect on your own collagen reproduction and the molecules are too big to enter the skin.

9. Estrogen

Also listed as Estradoil

this hormone-based can be found in most perfumes, restorative creams or lotions. Estrogen is obtained by extracting urine from pregnant horses

10. Retinol

This ingredient can be derived from  animals.  mine is sourced from plants only.
